One lady’s Victorian gold over silver carved tortoise shell brooch, circa 1860-180. The brooch features an oval bezel set tortoise shell carving, very high relief intricate carving, measuring approximately 36 x 30 mm. The Oriental village scene in brown in color and is very good. The brooch in not marked but tests to be gold over silver, weighs 9.0 grams and is finished with a straight pin and C catch on reverse. Condition is good. |
