This ring features a central rectangular hardstone cameo, set with engraved side bars, supported by an open work scroll gallery and single shank with engraved shoulders.
The rectangular hand carved stone measure approximately 24 x 17 mm, is a classic profile of helmeted Roman soldier, and has a moderate to high relief.
The stone is semi-translucent to opaque in clarity and is medium to vary dark reddish purple in color. There are minor abrasion chips on the corners.
This ring tests 14k, weighs approximately 11.6 grams and is in good condition overall.
